On my way to Michigan!!

November 19, 2009
Today did NOT start out like I thought it would!! I got up at 4am, got ready, got to the airport by 5:30a and was getting ready for my 6:00 flight when the board showed our flight had been delayed until 6:50. Well ok, not too big of a deal. I went ahead got checked in and got settled into a very comfortable wing chair (not your standard chairs for an airport and the bathroom was......OMG very nice!! It had won awards!! Who would have thought that for such a small airport in Fort Smith, AR).
By 6:30 the flight had been delayed yet again, now it's an 8:30 flight to Memphis. I am getting tired of this already. I was supposed to catch my connecting flight in Memphis at 9!!! Back to the check in I go. The man in front of me got the last seat on a different flight. Great! I got sent to the AA counter and they were able to get me on their next flight to Dallas with a connecting flight to Detroit at 5:45. But on the bright side I did get bumped to first class!!

Finally in Dallas!! Now to just wait until 5:45 to get my connecting flight!

DFW airport is BUSY!! I was just a little more than bored waiting for the next flight. It would have been a lot better if I had someone there to talk to but I made it just fine. The flight to Detroit was good, I think I had 5 glasses of wine and was not concerned at all if the plane went down or not! That is great information for the next time I decide to fly on a tiny propeller plane!! More wine=less worry!

Halloween!!

Yay for Halloween and Happy Birthday to ME!!
Nick picked out his own costume this year. He was excited about being a vampire! I dont know where he got it, It couldnt have been me talking about the vampires in the Twilight series!!

Here is cute stuff Nick being an evil Vampire!!
Brittany was too old to go Trick or Treating..........until she decided that she really wanted some candy and we were only going to go to our families houses. Her dad is still in Critical Condition in the hospital and all of that side of the family is staying in Ft. Smith, so this lifted her spirits a little I think.
She borrowed some of Nicks vampire make up and went as a Zombie.

OOOoooo Scary!
They both got entirely too much candy but they had a good time! I wonder what they will be next Halloween???

Sometime in September!!

We have been working hard to get the chicken pen finished up. The chickens dont seem to mind that their 'house' isnt done but they will start minding around December when the temperature starts dropping!!
Here we are getting started framing up the house. Even Brittany came out to help out!
Here Justin is putting the tin on the roof. He loves all the help that he gets from me! I tell him taking pictures is a hard job, but someone MUST document it!
Get busy there mister!!
Wahoo! The roof is done and the walls are done, enough that we can start building boxes and then get the front on and build a door!
There, Happy Chickens!! All 22 of them!!
Well I hope you liked the 'Chicken' post! (doesnt that rooster just look pretty?)

Catching up!

I am determined to catch up here. I am so far behind and for that I am sorry, so I am now going to bombard you with some quick posts to try to catch up a little!! You can all thank Melissa for giving me that little extra PUSH!! (or should I say SHOVE!)

Recipe Keepsake holder

This is a simple box that measures about 5 x 7. I couldnt find my velcro at the time so I just made a belly band to fit it and I really like how it turned out.

Believe it or not this paper started out pink, but after enough destressing ink it looks perfectly vintage which is a wonderful thing to me!
I thought I would add some recipes (some easy and some of B's favorites too) and then give it to her when she gets married and starts cooking on her own.
She has already spied the box and loves it and asked me to add some other recipes to it. (like enchiladas, bbq baked chicken and others!!)
Thanks for looking, Hope you enjoy!

I decorated 2 cakes!!!

This is my first attempt 'EVER' at decorating a cake!! I cant tell you how many mistakes there are, but believe me, there are MANY!! I had so much fun decorating this cake I couldnt wait to do another one! This is the second attempt at decorating! I will have to admit that this one was a lot harder than the first, but I think it turned out fine! I can see a lot of mistakes when I look at the picture, but I will just use that as a reference for when I decorate the next one!

I hope you enjoyed looking at my cakes!! I am an extreme amature at this but I did enjoy it. I also enjoyed eating them!! They were yummy!! Gotta love that home made buttercream icing!!
